Alkompis – Sweden News: In a significant development, Morocco has extradited two Swedish nationals to Sweden on suspicion of their involvement in extensive drug trafficking operations. This transfer comes as a result of a newly established agreement between Moroccan and Swedish police forces.
According to Younes Himar, Deputy Head of the International Unit at the National Operations Department of the Swedish Police, several Swedish individuals involved in serious crimes have been returned from Morocco in a short timeframe. He emphasized the importance of this extradition, stating, "It is positive that two individuals we believe have had a significant impact on drug crimes in the country can now be brought to trial," as reported by TT.
Suspected Drug Trafficking Operations
One of the men is 28 years old and is suspected of leading a wholesale drug trafficking network that allegedly supplied drugs to criminal gangs in Sweden and other Nordic countries. The other individual, aged 42, held a leadership position in a criminal network that smuggled large quantities of cannabis into Sweden. Authorities are set to seek the detention of both men for further investigations following their arrival in Sweden.
This extradition is part of a broader collaboration agreement between Moroccan and Swedish law enforcement agencies aimed at tackling organized crime and drug trafficking more effectively.
