This extreme weather phenomenon is forecasted to bring soaring temperatures ranging from 44°C to 47°C in several provinces, including Errachidia, Taroudant, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Smara, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Aousserd. Other regions, such as Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, Settat, El Kelaat Sraghna, and Marrakech, are bracing for slightly lower, yet still sweltering temperatures between 42°C and 45°C on Tuesday. Meanwhile, coastal areas, including Agadir, Essaouira, and Inezgane-Ait Melloul, will experience milder conditions, with temperatures expected to hover between 39°C and 42°C.
This latest heatwave follows a series of unseasonably high temperatures that have persisted throughout the summer, prompting many residents to seek refuge from the oppressive heat. Popular destinations such as beaches and swimming pools have become crowded as families and individuals flock to these cooler areas in search of respite. Coastal cities, particularly Agadir, have seen an influx of visitors during the summer, with both families and young people eager to escape the sweltering inland heat.
