This extreme weather event is anticipated to span from Sunday through Tuesday, with temperatures soaring as high as 47°C in several provinces. The DGM has specifically indicated that regions such as Oued Ed-Dahab, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Taroudant, Zagora, Errachidia, Aousserd, and Boujdour will experience the brunt of the heat, with temperatures likely to range between 45°C and 47°C. Additionally, the provinces of Marrakech, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, and Kelaat Sraghna are expected to witness temperatures between 42°C and 45°C during this period.
Moreover, other areas, including Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Khenifra, Taourirt, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, Guercif, and Taza, are forecasted to endure hot weather with temperatures fluctuating between 42°C and 45°C on both Sunday and Monday. Inland regions of Laayoune, Tarfaya, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan will also experience similar extreme temperatures. For those in Sidi Bennour, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Sidi Ifni, Tiznit, Essaouira, Driouch, Nador, Oujda-Angad, and Safi, temperatures are expected to range from 39°C to 42°C.
