Introducing the Morocco Food World: A New Trade Fair for the Food Sector
The Messe Düsseldorf is set to launch a groundbreaking trade fair titled Morocco Food World in the autumn of 2027, focusing on the food industry and the technologies involved in processing and packaging. This event aims to address the growing demand for modern packaging solutions and printing technologies essential for the evolving food sector in Morocco.
As the first dedicated event by Messe Düsseldorf in Morocco, the Morocco Food World will be held in collaboration with the Fédération Nationale de l’Agroalimentaire (FENAGRI), the national association representing the Moroccan food industry. The fair is expected to highlight advancements in food production alongside innovations in processing and packaging technologies.
Exploring Morocco's Robust Food Industry
Morocco possesses a diverse agricultural and food industry, exporting a variety of products including fruits, vegetables, fish, seafood, and processed foods. The internal market is also developing rapidly, with increasing demands for quality, product safety, and international marketing standards. This landscape is driving a significant need for modernization across production, processing technologies, automation, and packaging methods.
The launch of the Morocco Food World represents a strategic expansion for Messe Düsseldorf into the MENA region. Having established a presence in Egypt since 2019 with events focused on processing and packaging, this new fair will enhance connections between Europe and West African markets, leveraging Morocco's unique position in the region. Projections for economic growth in Morocco indicate an increase of approximately 4 to 4.5 percent for both 2026 and 2027, further emphasizing the potential of this market.
By connecting food manufacturers, processors, retailers, and international buyers with suppliers of products, technologies, and services, the Morocco Food World aims to foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and growth within the industry. FENAGRI, representing over 2,600 companies and 15 industry associations, will play a crucial role in facilitating connections and promoting participation in this new event.
Thomas Dohse, Director of interpack at Messe Düsseldorf, expressed enthusiasm about this new venture, stating, "We are excited to build a new fair in a market where remarkable developments are taking place. Morocco's dynamic food industry is investing in modern production structures and offers a unique connection between Europe and Africa. This presents us with an incredible opportunity to bring people, companies, and markets together and provide our clients with new avenues into this exciting region."
