Morocco's Historic Participation in Gamescom 2026

In a remarkable moment for the Moroccan gaming industry, the country has officially participated for the first time in Gamescom 2026, the largest global event dedicated to the video game industry. This prestigious exhibition is taking place in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30, 2026, and aims to showcase Morocco's burgeoning video game ecosystem on an international platform. The Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, is spearheading this initiative with a national pavilion featuring a delegation of institutional representatives alongside 11 local video game development studios.

According to a statement from the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, this participation marks a new phase in promoting Moroccan expertise within the global video game sector. It provides an invaluable opportunity for participating studios to enhance their presence in one of the world's foremost video game markets. Moreover, it enables them to connect with publishers, investors, and key industry players at an international level, thereby fostering potential collaborations and business ventures.

Expanding Horizons for Moroccan Enterprises

The agency emphasized that Gamescom 2026 serves as an international stage for Moroccan talents and companies operating in the video game sector. It allows them to showcase their innovations, expertise, and creativity, while also exploring new market opportunities and developing partnerships with global stakeholders in the industry. Gamescom 2026 has already garnered significant attention, attracting over 80,000 visitors in May 2026, with participation from 24 countries, 100 Moroccan exhibitors, and 48 international investors.
