Morocco's Preparations for Africa Cup of Nations 2027 Qualifiers

In a significant move ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers, the Moroccan national football team has commenced its training sessions at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé, as of Monday evening. This preparation comes in anticipation of two crucial matches against Gabon and Lesotho, which are part of the initial rounds of the qualification process for the prestigious tournament. Additionally, the team is set to engage in a friendly match against Ghana, further enhancing their readiness for the competitive fixtures ahead.

According to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the national squad participated in their first training session under the guidance of head coach Walid Regragui. This initial session was focused on regaining the players' physical freshness while also implementing the preparatory program designed by the coaching staff to ensure optimal performance during the upcoming matches. Notably, all invited players were present at the training, with the exception of Ismail Sabiri and Achraf Hakimi, who are expected to join the team on Wednesday.

The Moroccan team will continue its rigorous training regime over the coming days, adhering to the schedule set by the technical staff, with the objective of achieving peak readiness before their first match. They will kick off their qualification campaign against Gabon on Friday, at 7 PM, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. Following this, they will face Lesotho in a match scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, in South Africa. Furthermore, the national team is slated to play a friendly against Ghana on Sunday, October 4, at the Grand Stadium in Tangier, adding to their competitive edge as they prepare for the qualifiers.
