Morocco's Commitment to Palestinian Support

In a significant diplomatic gesture, Morocco has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people while enhancing their resilience across various dimensions. This reaffirmation was articulated during a speech delivered on Thursday in Jeddah by Mustapha Mansouri, the Moroccan ambassador in Riyadh and the kingdom's permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Mansouri emphasized that Morocco's commitment is not merely rhetorical but is reflected in tangible actions carried out on the ground by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, which acts as the executive arm of the Al-Qods Committee.

The ambassador, who led the Moroccan delegation at the 23rd extraordinary meeting of OIC foreign ministers, highlighted the agency's effective initiatives aimed at fostering development, social welfare, and humanitarian projects. These initiatives are designed to bolster the resilience of the people of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), improve their living conditions, and preserve the social fabric of the city. With a steadfast belief in the power of multilateral collective action, Morocco has also engaged in international efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region, underscoring its proactive approach to regional diplomacy.

Addressing Ongoing Challenges

The extraordinary meeting focused on addressing the current situation in Al-Quds and the surrounding Islamic and Christian holy sites, particularly in light of recent escalations and illegal actions that threaten the identity of Al-Quds. The Moroccan delegation included key officials, such as Khalid Bencheikh, the director of Maghreb, Arab, and Islamic affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as other prominent representatives from the Moroccan consulate in Jeddah. This gathering served as a platform for discussing unified positions in response to the ongoing challenges posed by Israeli policies.
