Morocco Receives Praise from GCC for Support Against Iranian Aggression

GCC Commends King Mohammed VI's Solidarity

On Thursday, representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states convened for the 8th Morocco-GCC Joint Ministerial Meeting, conducted via videoconference. During this important gathering, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation to King Mohammed VI of Morocco for the unwavering support and solidarity that the North African Kingdom has shown toward its Gulf allies in response to Iranian aggression. This meeting featured key figures such as Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, and Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary General of the GCC, along with ministers and representatives from the member states.

The Gulf ministers took this opportunity to highlight Morocco’s genuine brotherly support and active solidarity, acknowledging the enlightened leadership of King Mohammed VI, especially in these challenging times characterized by unwarranted military escalation from Iran and repeated violations of Gulf States' sovereignty. Their statements underscored that such commendable actions exemplify the robust historical and fraternal ties shared between Morocco and the Gulf nations, as well as the unique personal bonds that unite the King with his counterparts in the GCC.

Unified Stance Against Aggression

This unified stance among the Gulf countries reflects their respect for the proactive initiative taken by King Mohammed VI in response to the Iranian aggression, which included a series of telephone conversations with leaders of the GCC states. These discussions involved esteemed figures such as Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain; Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia; and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar. In reaffirming Morocco's strong condemnation of the aggressions aimed at the sovereignty and security of these brotherly nations, King Mohammed VI expressed his full support for any legitimate measures these countries may pursue to safeguard their security and ensure the well-being of their citizens.
