Morocco Sees Establishment of 25,520 New Companies by Early 2026

Significant Growth in Business Establishments in Morocco

According to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property, a remarkable total of 25,520 new companies were established in Morocco by the end of the first quarter of 2026. This surge in entrepreneurship highlights the increasing dynamism of the Moroccan economy and the growing inclination of individuals and entities to engage in business activities.

The report indicates that corporate entities account for a substantial 76% of the newly established companies, while individual entrepreneurs represent the remaining 24%. This trend underscores the preference for collective business structures among investors, particularly in light of the advantages they offer, such as limited liability and easier access to funding.

Regional and Sectoral Breakdown of New Companies

In terms of legal structures, the single-member limited liability company emerged as the most favored format among corporate entities, constituting 66.5% of total registrations. This was followed by traditional limited liability companies, which made up 32.6%. The regional distribution of new establishments reveals that the Casablanca-Settat region leads with 39.5% of the newly formed companies, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 14.3%, Marrakech-Safi at 12.6%, and Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima with 10.3%. Collectively, these four regions account for an impressive 76.7% of all newly registered corporate entities in the national commercial register.

Examining the sectorial distribution, the majority of new companies primarily operated in commerce, representing 28.1% of the total. This was followed by construction, public works, and real estate, which accounted for 25.2%. Other significant sectors included various services (19.3%), transportation (7.5%), and manufacturing (6.5%). For individual entrepreneurs, the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region recorded the highest registration rate at 20.7%, trailed by Casablanca-Settat (13.3%), the eastern region (11%), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (10.3%), and Fès-Meknès (9.9%).

Additionally, during the period from January to March 2026, a total of 33,332 trade names were registered, further illustrating the robust entrepreneurial spirit currently flourishing in Morocco.
