The MoU lays the foundation for a collaborative approach to developing various aspects of digital infrastructure, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and the essential electrical power and cooling systems that support these technologies. Minister Seghrouchni emphasized that strengthening digital infrastructure is not just a technical requirement but a cornerstone of Morocco’s technological sovereignty. Aligning with National Strategies for Digital Growth
This strategic partnership is in direct alignment with Morocco's ambitious Digital Morocco 2030 initiative, the AI Made in Morocco roadmap, and the national Cloud 2025-2030 strategy. Collectively, these frameworks aim to accelerate the country’s digital transformation and enhance its domestic digital capabilities. The agreement will facilitate the exchange of technical expertise, collaborative studies, and the identification of strategic projects, allowing both the Ministry and Vertiv to explore innovative infrastructure solutions tailored to Morocco’s future digital needs.
A focal point of the collaboration will be the development of a 50 MW sovereign data center in Rabat, which is expected to significantly bolster Morocco’s sovereign cloud capabilities. This facility will serve as a backbone for digital public services, AI applications, high-performance computing, and cybersecurity measures. Following the signing, Minister Seghrouchni engaged in discussions with key figures from the tech industry, including Andre Biyong, Chief Strategy Officer and Deputy CEO of Cybastion, and Amine Kandil, CEO of N+ONE Datacenters. These discussions, which included Vertiv representatives, revolved around expanding opportunities for collaboration in critical digital infrastructure, sovereign cloud solutions, AI, and advanced computing technologies.
