The 146 nations included in this study represent a staggering 95% of the global population and account for 99% of the world’s GDP.

The index is underpinned by four critical pillars: openness, innovation, efficiency, and resource availability. Morocco’s notable placement reflects its strong performance across these dimensions, effectively outshining its North African counterparts. Following Morocco is Egypt at 88th place, Tunisia at 105th, and Mauritania at 131st, confirming Morocco as the top performer among its regional peers.

Morocco’s Position in the Arab World and Beyond

Regionally, Morocco continues to lag behind several Gulf economies, with the United Arab Emirates leading the Arab world at an impressive 7th position globally, followed by Qatar at 26th and Saudi Arabia at 27th. In a broader perspective, the overall ranking is dominated by the United States, which secures the top position with a perfect score of 100. Following closely is China, achieving a score of 93.1, and Singapore taking the third place. Germany and France round out the top five, ranking fourth and tenth respectively.

Morocco's advancements are not only reflected in the Global Attractiveness Index but also in various other rankings, indicating a growing reputation on both the African and Arab stages. For instance, it recently secured the 65th position in the Global Peace Index 2026, significantly ahead of France, which ranked 99th. This remarkable distance of 34 ranks illustrates Morocco's commitment to fostering a stable and peaceful environment, which is pivotal for attracting foreign investments and enhancing its global standing.
