Morocco to Host the 8th International Automotive Industry Competitiveness Exhibition in 2026

Under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the city of Kenitra will host the 8th edition of the International Automotive Industry Competitiveness Exhibition (SCIA) from June 24 to 26, 2026. This important event, organized by the Moroccan Association of Automotive Industry and Assembly (AMICA), will feature 170 exhibitors from 12 countries, with expectations of generating approximately one billion dirhams in revenue for various components of the industrial ecosystem.

This edition follows the success of the Tangier event in 2023 and marks a new milestone in strengthening the competitiveness of Morocco's automotive industry. It aims to support the transition towards a new generation of electric and connected vehicles, aligning with the evolving global value chains in this strategic sector.

The rebranding of the exhibition from the "Automotive Subcontracting Exhibition" (SSAT) to the "International Automotive Industry Competitiveness Exhibition" (SCIA) reflects a transformative vision and objectives. The focus has shifted from merely subcontracting to solidifying the position of Moroccan companies as industrial partners capable of innovation, increasing added value, and enhancing local integration.

Kenitra offers a strategic location for participants, being part of a comprehensive industrial ecosystem that includes the Atlantic Free Zone and Stellantis factories, in addition to its proximity to the automotive hub in Tangier. This advantageous position presents economic actors with greater opportunities for direct communication with manufacturers and suppliers, facilitating the development of new partnerships.

Morocco continues to solidify its status as a leading continental hub for the automotive industry, boasting an industrial ecosystem comprising over 260 automotive parts and equipment manufacturers, along with three major vehicle manufacturing units that provide more than 280,000 direct and indirect jobs. The local integration rate in the sector stands at around 69%, with a production capacity reaching one million vehicles annually and exports exceeding 15 billion euros, highlighting the growing presence of the Kingdom within global value chains and the confidence international manufacturers have in Moroccan industry.

The 2026 edition is expected to attract various segments of the industrial value chain, featuring companies specializing in engineering and studies, manufacturing equipment and parts, transport and logistics, industrial supplies, specialized machinery, packaging, and testing and certification bodies, as well as startups and innovation and vocational training centers.

The event will witness international participation from 12 countries, including Morocco, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, China, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sri Lanka, and Tunisia. This diverse representation underscores the increasing appeal of Morocco as a regional automotive manufacturing platform.

Badr El Hamoudi, the president of the International Automotive Industry Competitiveness Exhibition, emphasized that relocating the event to Kenitra is part of a policy aimed at fostering closer ties with national industrial hubs. He highlighted the goal of moving Moroccan companies from the status of "secondary subcontractor" to that of a "competitive and innovative industrial player" capable of meeting the new demands of major global manufacturers.

The previous edition achieved significant results, gathering over 500 professionals and recording a satisfaction rate of approximately 69%. The 2026 edition aspires to transform business meetings into tangible industrial partnerships and contracts.

The eighth edition is poised to mobilize investments and business opportunities exceeding one billion dirhams, particularly in vital areas such as logistics services, industrial tools and equipment, plastic injection and compression technologies, maintenance, packaging, and filling, thereby enhancing the development of a more competitive Moroccan automotive ecosystem that is integrated into global transformations.
