Morocco Set to Host Strategic Gulf Cooperation Meeting

On March 13, 2026, Morocco will host the 9th Joint Ministerial Meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This initiative, led by the GCC nations, underscores Morocco's significant role in enhancing cooperative relations and strategic partnerships between the two regions. The announcement was made during the 8th Joint Ministerial Meeting held via videoconference, which included the participation of Nasser Bourita, Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, and Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, along with various ministers and representatives from the member states.

During this gathering, foreign ministers from the GCC states praised the profound ties between Morocco and the GCC countries, acknowledging the continuous efforts of Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to strengthen Arab solidarity and elevate the strategic partnership to new heights. The hosting of this important ministerial event by Morocco reflects the high level of trust placed in the Kingdom by its Gulf counterparts. It also illustrates the strong bonds of fraternity and cooperation that characterize the relations between the two parties, along with a mutual commitment to ongoing dialogue and coordination on various issues of common interest.
