Morocco's Business Landscape Thrives with Over 109,000 New Registrations in 2025

Morocco's Booming Business Environment

In 2025, Morocco's entrepreneurial spirit remained robust, as evidenced by the registration of 109,656 new companies throughout the year, according to recent data released by the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC). This remarkable figure signifies a sustained momentum in business creation across various sectors and regions within the country. Notably, out of these new establishments, 78,622 were classified as legal entities while 31,034 were sole proprietorships. Analyzing the sectoral composition reveals that commerce led the way, accounting for an impressive 35.7% of all new registrations. This was closely followed by construction and real estate activities at 19.65%, miscellaneous services at 17.63%, transport at 7.79%, and industry at 7.01%. The hospitality sector, comprising hotels and restaurants, represented 5.71% of the new businesses, whereas the information and communication technology (ICT) sector recorded 2.89%. Financial activities and agriculture and fishing also contributed with 1.86% and 1.78% respectively.

Regional Growth and Legal Frameworks

The geographical distribution of these new companies indicates a strong concentration along Morocco’s economic corridors. The Casablanca-Settat region emerged as the leader, contributing 33,959 new companies, which accounts for nearly one-third of the national total. Following this, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region reported 15,286 new companies, while Rabat-Salé-Kénitra registered 13,983. The Marrakech-Safi region came in fourth with 12,342 registrations. Moreover, southern regions, such as Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, also showcased a rise in entrepreneurial activity, highlighting the ongoing investments aligned with the Southern Provinces development model.

From a legal perspective, single-shareholder limited liability companies, locally referred to as SARL-AU, constituted a significant 64.8% of all new registrations, with standard limited liability companies (SARLs) making up the remaining 34.4%. This trend suggests a clear preference among Morocco's emerging entrepreneurs for simplified incorporation frameworks, which aligns with the broader governmental initiatives aimed at reducing administrative barriers to business establishment. As Morocco continues to foster a vibrant business ecosystem, the potential for growth and innovation remains promising.
