In July 2026, it signed a partnership agreement with the High Commission for Planning, which is responsible for official statistics in Morocco, aimed at establishing a national system for measuring human rights indicators. This system is expected to offer more precise tools to identify social and spatial disparities, monitor vulnerability conditions, and pinpoint gaps related to access to various rights. Such measures will facilitate the evaluation of public policies and identify areas that require increased efforts to ensure actual access to rights.
Regarding international efforts, the National Human Rights Council reaffirmed its commitment to following the ongoing process of drafting an international covenant on the right to development, calling for the acceleration of the adoption of this international instrument. It stressed the need for explicit recognition of the role of national human rights institutions in its implementation and monitoring. The council also highlighted the importance of strengthening the roles of national institutions in evaluating rights effectiveness and tracking international commitments, asserting that the realization of the right to development requires effective monitoring mechanisms based on reliable data and measurable indicators.
