Structured Return for Students in Morocco
The Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports has officially outlined the process for the commencement of the 2026/2027 school year. According to the newly established regulations, the school reopening will occur in two phases: from September 3 to September 5, students will return to their schools in a staggered manner based on their grade levels, allowing for an organized reception and orientation. The mandatory subject classes, as per the schedule, will commence for all grades on Monday, September 7, 2026.
Preparations for this transition will begin in educational institutions on September 1. In accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 047.26 dated July 3, 2026, staff will gradually resume their duties. The staggered entry from September 3 to 5 is designed to facilitate a proper welcome, class scheduling, and organizational processes prior to the official start of classes.
After these three introductory days, regular and obligatory classes for all grades will begin on Monday, September 7, 2026. In an official statement, the Ministry of Education has called on teachers, administrative staff, families, and partners to collaborate effectively, with the aim of ensuring a smooth school start and adherence to the established class times.
For non-formal education programs, as well as courses aimed at reintegrating dropouts (known as 'Second-Chance' programs), classes are scheduled to start on October 5, 2026.
