FUS Morocco Addresses Al Ahly's Interest in Top Scorer Sufyan Ben Jdida

In a recent statement, Hicham Zrouqi, the General Director of FUS Rabat, has clarified the club's stance regarding the ongoing speculation about a potential transfer of their star striker, Sufyan Ben Jdida, to the Egyptian club Al Ahly during the upcoming summer transfer window. This follows reports from Moroccan sports newspaper, Al Muntakhab, which indicated that Al Ahly has shown interest in acquiring the prolific goal scorer, who has been making headlines in the Moroccan league.

During a segment on the sports program “Koura Ma’a Faiq” aired on MBC Masr 2, Zrouqi explicitly stated, “There are currently no negotiations with Al Ahly for the purchase of Sufyan Ben Jdida’s contract.” He further emphasized that the club intends to retain Ben Jdida, who recently extended his contract until 2032, as part of their broader sporting project. Zrouqi asserted, “We have no intention of selling Ben Jdida, who has proven to be vital for our team. Our focus is on our current competitions in Morocco, not on transferring our star player.”

This season, Sufyan Ben Jdida has excelled, netting an impressive 15 goals and providing 2 assists in just 17 matches, solidifying his position as the top scorer in the Moroccan league. Meanwhile, Al Ahly is gearing up for a crucial match against Al Masry on Wednesday, May 20, as they aim to secure the Egyptian Premier League title for the current season, contingent on favorable results against their rivals, Zamalek and Pyramids FC.
