Negotiations Underway for Chijovatsuo Mabasa's Transfer
The management of FUS Rabat, the Moroccan football club, has initiated negotiations to sign Chijovatsuo Mabasa, a former striker for South Africa's Orlando Pirates, during the current summer transfer window. This move comes as the club aims to strengthen its squad following the departure of key player Sofiane Benjedida to Al Ahly.
According to reports from South African channel SABC Sport, the free agent Mabasa, whose contract with Orlando Pirates concluded at the end of the last season, is nearing a move to North Africa. FUS Rabat has made a formal offer to acquire the forward, while also competing with Egyptian club Pyramids FC for his signature. The interest in Mabasa has sparked attention from several clubs in South Africa since his exit from Orlando Pirates, but none have managed to meet his demands thus far.
Despite Stellenbosch FC's eagerness to secure a permanent deal following his loan spell in the Cape Winelands last season, negotiations ultimately fell through without an agreement. Reports indicate that Pyramids FC has also shown interest in acquiring the South African forward, but his future remains uncertain due to the presence of five foreign players currently in their squad. This situation positions FUS Rabat, who is keen on replacing Benjedida, as the frontrunner to land Mabasa.
