Significant Police Operation Targets Organized Crime in Marrakech
According to informed sources, the General Directorate of National Security and the Protection of National Territory has assigned Mohamed Dkhissi, the Head of the Judicial Police at the General Directorate of National Security, along with the head of the National Judicial Police Brigade in Casablanca, the task of conducting an extensive sweep in the city of Marrakech. The primary objective of this operation is to apprehend criminal elements who are subjects of international search warrants, particularly in the realms of organized crime, international drug trafficking, and money laundering.
In light of a specific target bank provided by the National Territorial Protection Directorate in coordination with Interpol, a number of criminal elements that had taken refuge in the Red City were identified. This followed increased pressure from the Dubai Police in the United Arab Emirates, which had tightened the noose around organized crime affiliates.
Over the last three days, police forces successfully executed a series of operations resulting in the arrest of internationally wanted individuals. The most recent arrest involved a Moroccan national known to be a serious offender and sought after through multiple international legal proceedings. He was apprehended in an apartment in the Lifernaige neighborhood, situated above a popular café near the Court of Appeals.
These successful security operations by the General Directorate of National Security underscore Morocco's leadership in security efforts, setting an inspiring example for numerous countries, including the United States, which has sought Moroccan security expertise to ensure the success of the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Thanks to the security agencies for their professional work. Morocco has established a significant name in the field of security, demonstrating excellence in safeguarding its citizens. The Moroccan security forces operate at a high level, providing a sense of safety that we must strive to maintain. Criminals have no place in our country, and those sought by justice must be held accountable. May God protect our country from criminals, and may we continue to strike hard against crime.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the security personnel involved in these operations, and we hope for the continuation of such campaigns in the future.
