Morocco's Police Services Set for Enhanced Connectivity and Structure

Modernizing Police Services in Morocco

In response to the growing demand for faster and more accessible public services, Morocco is significantly enhancing the transformation of its administrative framework, particularly within its security services. This modernization initiative aims to elevate the quality of service provided to citizens, ensuring a more efficient and user-friendly experience. On June 3, 2026, a framework agreement was signed in Rabat between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). This pivotal agreement was formalized by Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition, and Abdellatif Hammouchi, the DGSN Director General.

The agreement outlines plans for the implementation of pilot programs and the development of digital and physical infrastructures aimed at modernizing the reception conditions within police stations across the kingdom. The primary goal is to experiment with new systems that can later be gradually rolled out nationwide, enhancing the overall efficiency and accessibility of police services.

Strengthening Institutional Cooperation

Beyond the technical enhancements, this agreement is designed to bolster institutional cooperation between the two departments, focusing on the modernization of the public police service. It seeks to align police services with the broader digital transformation agenda of the public administration, facilitating a seamless integration of modern technology into everyday operations. This initiative is part of a larger transformation process that the Moroccan police have been undergoing for several years. Notably, at the end of 2024, the DGSN launched the "E-Police" platform, which allows citizens to conduct various administrative procedures online, such as applying for police documents, scheduling appointments, and tracking procedures remotely.

Additionally, the DGSN has developed a digital ecosystem based on digital identity and the gradual dematerialization of several administrative services. This strategy aims to minimize the need for citizens to travel, expedite the processing of requests, and enhance the protection of personal data. The framework agreement signed in Rabat also aligns with the objective of standardizing service quality across public administrations. It includes a phase of experimentation through pilot projects, the results of which will inform a broader deployment within the various structures of the DGSN nationwide.
