Top Billionaires of Morocco in 2026

In the latest Forbes list of the world's billionaires for 2026, three notable Moroccan figures have once again secured their positions among the wealthiest individuals globally. Othman Benjelloun, Aziz Akhannouch, and Anas Sefrioui continue to dominate Morocco's economic landscape, although their fortunes have experienced varying shifts this year. Othman Benjelloun, at the impressive age of 93, has maintained his title as the richest man in Morocco for the tenth consecutive year, ranking 2386th in the world and 18th in Africa. His net worth saw an increase, rising from $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion.

Aziz Akhannouch, the second richest man in Morocco, faced a decline in his fortune from $1.7 billion in 2024 to $1.5 billion in 2025. However, he rebounded this year with a net worth of $1.6 billion, placing 2481st globally and 19th in Africa. Conversely, Anas Sefrioui's wealth has taken a downturn, decreasing from $1.6 billion last year to $1.3 billion this year, landing him in the 2858th position worldwide and 22nd in Africa.

Global Wealth Trends

On a global scale, Elon Musk continues to reign supreme as the richest person in the world, boasting an astounding net worth of $839 billion, significantly outpacing his closest competitors. Following him are tech moguls Larry Page and Sergey Brin, with fortunes of $257 billion and $237 billion, respectively, highlighting the dominance of the technology and artificial intelligence sectors in the billionaire rankings of 2026.

The total number of billionaires worldwide, as reported by Forbes, has reached 3,428, an increase of 400 from 2025. This surge is attributed to advancements in artificial intelligence, active markets, and favorable tax policies. The combined wealth of the world's billionaires this year has soared to $20.1 trillion, a remarkable increase of $4 trillion compared to the previous year. The United States continues to lead with a record 989 billionaires, including 15 of the top 20 wealthiest individuals. Following the U.S. is China, including Hong Kong, with 610 billionaires, and India in third place with 229 billionaires.
