Natalia Ugalde Joins Mexican National Team for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

On October 6, 2026, it was announced that Natalia Ugalde, a promising forward from Pumas, has been officially called up to represent the Mexican U-17 Women’s National Team in the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup set to take place in Morocco. Ugalde is currently training in Germany as part of the national team's preparations, having begun her concentration on September 28 at the Mexican Football Federation's High-Performance Center.

As part of their training regimen, the Mexican squad traveled to Germany on October 2, where they will engage in two friendly matches. The first match is scheduled against Eintracht Frankfurt's U-20 team on October 8, followed by a game against the German U-17 National Team on October 11. The team will then head to Morocco on October 15, where the World Cup will be held.

Mexico is placed in Group F of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup alongside Spain, Chile, and Australia. Their opening match will take place on Thursday, October 19, against Spain at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. Following this, they will face Chile on October 22 and conclude the group stage against Australia on October 25.

If Mexico successfully advances to the knockout stage, they will compete in the round of 16 on either October 28 or 29. The quarter-finals are scheduled for November 1, with the semi-finals taking place on November 4. The final match and the third-place playoff will be held on November 7 at the Prince Moulay Stadium in Morocco.

Natalia Ugalde has been a key player in the youth ranks of Pumas and is currently a member of the U-19 Women’s team. She made her debut with the senior team during the Apertura 2026 season, coming on as a substitute in the first match against León.
