National Quran Memorization Competition Concludes in Casablanca

Finals of the National Quran Memorization Competition Held in Casablanca

On Saturday, the lecture hall at the cultural and administrative complex affiliated with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Casablanca hosted the finals of the national Quran memorization competition, organized specifically for the children and orphans of national security personnel. This event was orchestrated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works for National Security Employees in collaboration with the Casablanca Security Directorate.

During the competition, young participant Fatima Zahra Al-Yami clinched the first place in the memorization and recitation category, followed closely by Ayman Harwan from Marrakech in second place. Idris Hanati Idrissi, hailing from Fez, secured third place. In the recitation category, the top honor went to Hosna Bourmia from Meknes, with Safaa Az-Zayn from Marrakech taking second place, while Abdullah Al-Yami from Casablanca finished third. A total of 142 participants took part in this competition.

Promoting Religious Values and Community Engagement

Mohammed Machmachi, Secretary-General of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works for National Security Employees, emphasized that this competition was organized following directives from the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, aimed at expanding educational services available to the children of the foundation's members. He noted that the initiative seeks to instill religious values among the children of national security personnel, encouraging them to excel and strive for excellence, while also strengthening their connection with the Quran through memorization and recitation.

Machmachi expressed his congratulations to the local scientific councils and the regional departments of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs for their contributions to the success of this event. He praised their cooperation in monitoring the various stages of the preliminary rounds and recognized the efforts of the families of the participants, their teachers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the competition.

Member of the judging committee and member of the scientific council of the Nouacer province, Mohamed Karawi, commended this initiative launched by the General Directorate of National Security, considering it an opportunity to discover exceptional talents in Quran memorization and recitation. During the closing ceremony, awards were distributed to the thirty-four finalists as an encouragement for them to continue their dedication to the Quran and perfect its recitation. The judging committee from the scientific council in Casablanca, which oversaw the final stage of this national competition, was also honored.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mohamed Amhaydia, Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Abdul Khaliq Marzouki, Governor of Anfa, Abdul Latif Mazouz, President of the Regional Council, and Abdullah Al-Wardi, Wali of Casablanca Security, along with the families of the participating children.
