National Security Forces Disrupt Major Drug Trafficking Networks in Algeria

Recent Operations Lead to Significant Drug Seizures

The National Security operational units have successfully dismantled three organized criminal networks involved in the trafficking and illegal trade of drugs during a series of operations carried out last week across various regions, including the east, west, and center of the country. This extensive crackdown resulted in the seizure of over 112 kilograms of processed cannabis, sourced from Morocco, and led to the arrest of 11 individuals linked to these criminal enterprises. The efforts are part of a broader initiative to combat drug-related crimes, spearheaded by the Central Directorate for the Fight Against Drug Trafficking, in collaboration with the Mobile Judicial Police Unit of Sidi Bel Abbes and the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) of Tebessa, all under the supervision of the relevant judiciary authorities.

Financial Gains and Vehicles Seized in Operations

In addition to the substantial drug haul, the operations revealed financial gains amounting to nearly one billion Algerian dinars, representing illicit earnings from the drug trade. Furthermore, authorities confiscated eight vehicles of various types that were being used for the transportation and distribution of these narcotics. The detained suspects have been presented to the public prosecutors at the courts of Rouiba, Sidi Bel Abbes, and Bir Al-Ater in the Tebessa province, marking a significant stride in Algeria's ongoing battle against drug trafficking and organized crime.
