National Task Force on Palestine Condemns Provocative Actions in Marrakech

The National Task Force for Palestine has expressed its profound anger regarding recent events in the Bab Doukkala area of Marrakech, where a group of extremist Haredi Jews was documented performing religious rituals in a public street. This incident has sparked widespread controversy within Morocco.

According to reports from the news agency "Hespress", the group highlighted that several Zionist Jews gathered in the location and began to engage in peculiar rituals, reminiscent of those performed at the Buraq Wall. They emphasized that this act carries symbolic significance related to what is referred to as the "Moroccan Quarter" in Jerusalem, which was demolished in 1967 by the Israeli occupation forces.

The task force deemed these actions as "provocative behavior that crosses all red lines" and strongly condemned what it described as the "deliberate insolence" of extremists who "dare to infringe upon sacred sites", whether at Al-Aqsa Mosque or within Morocco itself. They regarded this as a blatant provocation of Moroccan sentiments.

Additionally, the group criticized what it termed the "silence of authorities" regarding the incident, asserting that such silence could amount to a "compromise of national sovereignty". In this context, they expressed concern that the ongoing relationships and normalization with the "Israeli occupation entity" pose a threat to internal security, calling for an end to all forms of cooperation.

The statement emphasized that the events in Marrakech represent a "dangerous precedent" that necessitates accountability for anyone who facilitated or allowed this to occur. It warned against attempts, as characterized by the group, to test reactions within Moroccan society as a precursor to what they consider "even more dangerous plans".

Furthermore, the statement included sharp political warnings linking the incident to broader so-called "Israeli" policies, referencing statements regarding what is referred to as "Greater Israel", along with accusations of obstructing religious freedom in Jerusalem in previous periods. It concluded that such actions reflect an "aggressive behavior" that requires a unified Arab stance to terminate any relations with "Israel".
