The General Directorate of National Security in Morocco has recently announced a series of strategic appointments across various cities, including a new head for the Traffic Division in Marrakech. This restructuring is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing law enforcement effectiveness throughout the country, with new appointments also taking place in cities such as Berrechid, El Bir Jdid, Jdida, Imintanout, Casablanca, Wislane, Safi, Youssoufia, Meknes, and Marrakech.
This recent movement, overseen by the Director General of National Security, Abdellatif Hamouchi, introduces a total of 14 new leadership positions. Among these are the appointments of a deputy head for the General Intelligence Service in Meknes and the head of the General Intelligence Division in Berrechid. Additionally, six security officials have been assigned to lead police precincts in cities like Marrakech, El Imintanout, Jdida, Safi, Youssoufia, and Meknes, highlighting a commitment to local law enforcement enhancement. Notably, a female security officer has been appointed to lead a police precinct in Jdida, marking a progressive step towards gender representation in law enforcement.
The appointments extend beyond local divisions and include new heads for traffic accident units in Wislane, Meknes, and Casablanca, as well as new leaders for the Traffic Division in El Bir Jdid and Marrakech. This restructuring reflects a meticulous selection process based on competence, professionalism, integrity, and prior experience, aimed at empowering a new generation of security officials.
