Installation of New Authority Agents in Agadir
On Friday, a significant ceremony took place in Agadir, presided over by Saaïd Amzazi, the wali of the Souss Massa region and governor of the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture, marking the installation of newly appointed authority agents. This event underscored the Moroccan government's commitment to enhancing local governance and adapting to the ongoing demographic, urban, economic, and social transformations within the Kingdom.
Among those newly appointed were Mohamed Aït El-Jid, who has taken on the role of caïd and chief of staff to the wali, alongside Mourad Farah and Morjana El Ghzaoui, both serving as caïds attached to the wali’s cabinet. Additionally, Amane Berrada has been appointed as the caïd of the Talborjt administrative annex, while Ismail El-Mqezba and Hassan Sekiati will oversee the El Hoda and Essalam administrative annexes, respectively. The appointments extend to Abderrahim Moussaoui and Abdelhaq Bousselham, who will act as khalifas of the caïd in the Ahouaz Agadir and Amskroud regions, and Nabil Fiqi, who takes on a similar role in Imouzzer.
Commitment to Local Governance
In his address, Mr. Amzazi emphasized that the appointment of these new authority agents aims to inject fresh energy into the territorial administration, reinforcing the established institutional tradition while also responding to the evolving needs of the community. He highlighted that effective territorial management requires listening to citizens, being proactive, fostering coordination, and encouraging initiative. These principles align with the Royal High Directions aimed at improving public services, building trust between citizens and institutions, enhancing good governance, and promoting sustainable development.
Mr. Amzazi urged the new authority agents to demonstrate unwavering professional commitment and to work closely with various institutions, including judicial authorities and security and administrative services. He called on all stakeholders to support the newly appointed officials, enabling them to fulfill their roles effectively and contribute to the dynamic development that Morocco is currently experiencing. The installation ceremony was attended by security officials, representatives from decentralized services, and members of civil society, reflecting a collaborative effort towards enhancing local governance.
