Two New Bus Lines to Connect the New Al-Azouzia Bus Station with Marrakech Neighborhoods
The authorities in Marrakech are actively working to integrate the new Al-Azouzia bus station with various neighborhoods in the city. In line with this initiative, the management of "Marrakech Hafliti" has announced the launch of two new urban transport lines, set to commence operations on Monday, August 24. This development aims to improve public transport services for passengers and facilitate easier access to the new bus station.
The first line, numbered "A21", will connect the densely populated Al-Mohammedi area to the Al-Azouzia bus station, featuring a route that includes 31 stops. Services on this line will run from 6:15 AM until 10:30 PM. The second line, designated "7A", will link the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area to the bus station, comprising 14 stops. This service will operate daily from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, with a ticket price set at 4 dirhams for both new lines.
It is important to note that users of the new bus station have been expressing concerns regarding accessibility issues and the high cost of taxi fares. Additionally, there has been a negative response from transport professionals to the decision to relocate the bus station from Bab Doukkala to Al-Azouzia. Many believe that this decision was made without adequate consultation or involvement from stakeholders in the management of the previous station, despite transport professionals owning about 60% of the capital in the company managing the old station.
