The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) is actively pursuing the candidacy of its parliamentary deputy, Mohamed Sabari, for a position in one of the districts of Marrakech, replacing his original district of Guelmim. According to reports from ar.telquel.ma, a consensus has emerged within the party structures in the Marrakech region regarding his nomination. Sabari currently serves as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, which positions him favorably in the political landscape.
In addition, it has been reported that the party will nominate its Minister of Higher Education, Azeddine Al-Midaoui, for the Rahmouna district, a decision that has been described as finalized. Commenting on this development, Samir Kodar, head of the organizational pole in PAM and President of the Marrakech-Safi region, emphasized during an internal meeting focused on electoral arrangements that the party aims for its ministers to also run for election and secure seats in Parliament, stating, "This will be our objective to close the debate regarding appointing ministers from the party without an electoral link."
Kodar confirmed the party's intention to nominate Sabari in a Marrakech district, adding that Sabari has lived in Marrakech for 36 years, making it suitable for him to be a candidate where he works, has his office, and leads his life. Furthermore, he underscored that the current aim of the party is for its national coordinator, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, to become the head of government following the upcoming September elections. According to the party's analysis, he noted, the candidates put forth by the party are likely to be those with the best chances of securing a seat.
In a related note, Kodar downplayed the significance of the controversy surrounding the party’s chairwoman, considering the criticisms as a "suspicious attack targeting a woman whose only fault was selling land that belonged to her father." This statement reflects the party's commitment to supporting its members amid external challenges and controversies as they prepare for a competitive electoral season.
