New Developments in the Case of a High School Inspector Accused of Harassment in Fes
According to recent reports, the Criminal Chamber (Bail) at the Fes Court of First Instance has decided to postpone the trial of a secondary education inspector from the regional directorate of the Ministry of National Education in the city, who is implicated in a case concerning the harassment of a social studies teacher. This decision was made during a session held on Friday, with the next hearing scheduled for November 13, 2023. During this upcoming session, the court intends to summon the complainant, who has reportedly retracted his initial complaint, as well as various witnesses.
Sources indicate that the public prosecution is pursuing the inspector on charges of sexual harassment via electronic messages and recordings of a sexual nature, as well as incitement to prostitution. An educational source revealed to "Code" that the decision to allow the inspector to remain free was influenced by health considerations and the fact that the teacher had previously withdrawn his complaint, which had been handled by the judicial police.
It has been alleged that the inspector engaged in sexual harassment towards the social studies teacher, requesting sexual favors from him. Reports indicate that this harassment occurred through several messages sent to the teacher via the instant messaging platform WhatsApp. Following a police investigation that included confrontations and necessary inquiries, it was revealed that the teacher disclosed the inspector's intentions to engage in a sexual relationship with him. In contrast, the arrested suspect acknowledged sending the messages but claimed he was unaware of the identity of the recipient.
