Latest Updates on the Harassment Case Involving a Secondary Education Inspector in Fes

As reported by goud.ma.

In a significant turn of events, the preliminary court in Fes has postponed the trial of a secondary education inspector from the Regional Education Directorate. This decision was made due to the inspector's involvement in a case concerning the harassment of a social studies teacher. The court, presided over by Judge Taibi Zain Al-Abidin, has rescheduled the hearing to November 13, 2023, in order to summon the complainant who previously retracted his complaint and to call upon witnesses.

The public prosecutor has charged the inspector with sexual harassment through electronic messages and recordings of a sexual nature, as well as solicitation for prostitution. According to educational sources, the inspector's provisional release was granted in consideration of his health conditions, particularly since the teacher had opted to withdraw his complaint, which had already been addressed by the judicial police.

Sources indicate that the inspector had been reportedly sending inappropriate messages to the teacher, requesting sexual favors. The harassment was conveyed through several messages sent via the instant messaging platform WhatsApp. Following the police investigation, which included necessary confrontations and inquiries, it was revealed that the teacher disclosed the inspector's intentions to establish a sexual relationship. However, the detained suspect claimed that while he did send those messages, he was unaware of the identity of the recipient.
