Enhancing Travel Connectivity Between France and Morocco
A new direct flight route has been inaugurated, linking Strasbourg to Marrakech. This initiative aims to strengthen the connectivity between the two cities and facilitate travel between Morocco and France, operating through the low-cost airline easyJet. The newly established route offers flights between Strasbourg Entzheim Airport and Marrakech Menara Airport at a frequency of two flights per week, specifically on Thursdays and Sundays. This development provides travelers with a direct option, eliminating the need for indirect flights or layovers through intermediary airports.
The introduction of this new air route is a response to the increasing demand for travel between the two cities, catering to various purposes including tourism, business, and visits from the Moroccan community residing in France, particularly in the eastern region of the country. In this context, the Consul General of Morocco in Strasbourg, Soumia Bouhamidi, emphasized that this flight represents an opportunity to enhance cooperation and expand mobility between the two nations. She highlighted its role in supporting economic and tourism exchanges, as well as strengthening human and cultural ties.
High Demand and Positive Reception
Jean Tilly, the Director of Strasbourg International Airport, noted that the inaugural flight was fully booked in both directions, reflecting the strong demand for this route. He pointed out that the launch aligns with the airport's strategy to diversify its air destinations. Many travelers have expressed their satisfaction with this direct flight, appreciating the convenience and time-saving benefits it offers, especially as they previously had to rely on other airports or endure multiple stopovers.
This development is part of an increasing momentum to expand air networks toward Morocco, with Marrakech solidifying its position as an international tourist destination. Furthermore, easyJet is looking to broaden its presence in the Moroccan market by introducing new routes and enhancing its operations in 2026, which includes establishing a new operational base in Marrakech.
