New Highway Exit to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Harhoura

New Access Road Enhances Connectivity to Harhoura

On July 10, 2026, the Moroccan National Highway Company (ADM) officially opened a new one-kilometer highway ramp that provides a direct route from Rabat to the center of Harhoura. This newly established connection is strategically located between the Témara and Ain Atiq interchanges, allowing for improved access to the city via the El Fellah road. The primary objective of this development is to ease the traffic burden that has plagued the Témara interchange, particularly during peak hours, which often sees significant congestion due to the volume of vehicles heading towards both Témara and the northern parts of Harhoura.

This new infrastructure is part of a broader initiative aimed at upgrading the Rabat-Skhirat highway corridor, a crucial project considering the rapid urbanization occurring along the southern coastal region of Morocco's capital. By segregating the flow of traffic, the highway ramp is expected to facilitate smoother transit for drivers, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and safety of the road network in the area.
