New Moroccan-Spanish Agreement to Bolster Business and Trade Relations
A significant new economic partnership agreement has been established between Almería and the Fez-Meknes region in Morocco, aimed at supporting enterprises and enhancing trade opportunities and investment exchanges between the two regions. This development marks a pivotal step in strengthening economic relations across the Mediterranean.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Ideal", the agreement was signed on Monday, reflecting the commitment of Almería province and the Kingdom of Morocco to bolster their economic and commercial ties through a framework of cooperation and partnership. This agreement is not merely institutional; it seeks to create new business opportunities, encourage productive investment, and facilitate the exchange of expertise in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
The agreement was ratified by the heads of the two institutions, Jeronimo Para representing the Spanish side, and Hamza Benabdallah from the Moroccan side. It is founded on principles of mutual benefit and economic cooperation, allowing Spanish companies easier access to the Moroccan market while enabling businesses from the Fez-Meknes region to penetrate Spanish and European markets.
This framework provides institutional support aimed at expanding the international activities of small and medium-sized enterprises. Areas of cooperation include joint promotion, exchange of economic information, organization of regular business meetings, and the dispatch of trade delegations along with training and consultancy programs across various sectors such as trade, industry, services, tourism, and culture.
Although the agreement does not entail any direct financial commitments, it opens doors for specific agreements related to particular projects, along with the establishment of a joint committee to oversee implementation and assess the progress of the partnership.
