New Rumors Surround HSV: World Cup Participant as a Potential Solution for the Right Flank

As the transfer window approaches its deadline on September 1st at 8 PM, Hamburger SV (HSV) is actively seeking reinforcements, particularly for the right flank of their squad. Following the interest in Brazilian defender Arthur from Bayer Leverkusen, the club's attention has turned to a fresh name: Zakaria El Ouahdi. The 24-year-old right-back, who showcased his skills with KRC Genk in Belgium, recently participated in the World Cup, making an appearance in the quarter-final match against France.

According to Belgian news outlet hln.be, HSV has submitted two bids for El Ouahdi, both of which have been rejected. This comes as no surprise, considering El Ouahdi, who is under contract until 2028, has been a key player for Genk, starting in all three of their matches this season. His market value is estimated at an impressive €17 million, a figure that places him out of reach for HSV unless they consider a loan deal. Given El Ouahdi's versatility, being capable of playing on the left side of defense or in right midfield, he could fit seamlessly into the HSV lineup.
