World-Class Parking Garage Opens in Marrakech
On September 7, 2026, Marrakech unveiled a new underground parking facility located at the iconic Place 16 Novembre in the Gueliz district. This newly opened parking garage is designed to enhance urban mobility and alleviate congestion in one of the city's busiest areas. Spanning approximately 9,500 square meters, the facility features two underground levels, providing a total of 429 parking spots for cars and an additional 60 spaces for motorcycles. Furthermore, the garage includes 10 charging stations specifically for electric vehicles, promoting sustainable transportation options.
The parking facility utilizes a modern management system aimed at simplifying the user experience. It includes advanced guidance and directional signage to help drivers locate available spots quickly and efficiently. The garage is equipped with three automatic payment kiosks, 35 display screens for real-time information and guidance, and a comprehensive surveillance system to ensure safety and security. It operates 24/7, ensuring users have access at any time of day or night.
Access to the garage has been designed with traffic flow in mind, featuring multiple entry and exit points. The main entrance and exit are located on Hassan II Street, with an additional exit on Qadi Iyad Street, and another entrance from Oued El Makhzen Street. This strategic layout facilitates smooth traffic movement and quick access for users.
Enhancements to Surrounding Area and Pricing Structure
The project also includes the renovation of Place 16 Novembre and its surroundings, transforming the upper space into a new public area designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the location and increase its attractiveness to visitors. This newly developed area features modern urban landscaping, contemporary lighting, and spaces designated for activities and events, providing a social and cultural dimension for both residents and tourists.
This parking facility was developed in response to the growing need for organized and equipped spaces to accommodate vehicles in a high-traffic area. By doing so, it aims to reduce the pressure on existing parking facilities, minimize illegal parking, and improve traffic flow, thereby enhancing the quality of public spaces in the area.
