Start Dates for the Academic Year 2026-2027

The Ministry of National Education, Primary Education, and Sports has officially announced to all parents, guardians, students, educational staff, and the general public that the school year for 2026-2027 will commence on its predetermined date, in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 047.26 issued on July 3, 2026, regarding the organization of the academic year.

In a recent statement, the ministry clarified that staff and employees of the educational administration and management, as well as inspection and evaluation bodies, will report to their workplaces to sign the entry records on September 1, 2026. Meanwhile, staff and employees in education and teaching, including academic educators, are scheduled to report to their respective educational institutions to sign the entry records on September 2.

Furthermore, children in kindergarten, students in the first and second grades of primary education, first-year students in the preparatory secondary education, and students in common branches of secondary education will begin their studies on September 3. On September 4, students in the third and fourth grades of primary education, second-year students in preparatory secondary education, and first-year baccalaureate students will join their institutions.

September 5 marks the beginning for fifth and sixth-grade students in primary education, third-year students in preparatory secondary education, and second-year baccalaureate students in educational institutions.

The announcement highlighted that September 7 is set as the official and mandatory start date for all levels of education, emphasizing that classes for non-formal education and second-chance programs will commence on October 5, 2026.

The ministry reiterated its call for all educational stakeholders, administrators, families, and partners to collectively mobilize to ensure the success of this school year's commencement and to guarantee quality learning time for all students across various educational levels.
