ONCF Implements Temporary Adjustments to Train Services
The National Office of Railways (ONCF) has announced several temporary adjustments to its train services over the coming weeks, a response to the ongoing construction of the Kénitra-Marrakech High-Speed Line and maintenance work on the conventional network. Travelers can expect disruptions on September 5 and 6, leading to the implementation of a new transport plan starting September 14.
Disruptions Expected on September 5 and 6
The initial wave of changes will take place from Saturday, September 5, at 11:00 PM until Sunday, September 6, at 11:00 PM. During this period, several train services will be modified to ensure that construction continues safely while maintaining service continuity as much as possible. For instance, trains from the TNR line heading towards El Jadida will only operate as far as Bouskoura, where passengers can connect to Al Atlas trains. Additionally, the TNR service to Settat will be temporarily suspended, directing travelers to Al Atlas trains instead. The TNR link to the airport will also be halted, replaced by Supratours bus shuttles. The direct Safi-Casablanca train will be suspended, and trains to and from Khouribga will be limited to Berrechid, with connections to Al Atlas trains.
These adjustments may result in delays and changes to travel times for Al Atlas trains as well, and travelers are encouraged to check their schedules before embarking on their journeys.
Enhanced Support for Travelers
To assist passengers during this transition, the ONCF is rolling out a robust information and support system. Staff will be present at stations to guide travelers and provide timely updates on schedules, connections, and any changes in service. The agency aims to minimize the impact of these construction activities on passengers while keeping the projects on track.
A new transport plan will take effect on September 14, 2026, as the construction of the Kénitra-Marrakech High-Speed Line progresses into a new phase. This phase will involve further modifications to schedules, service adaptations, and the gradual closure of certain stations, including those at the Faculties and Ennassim. Detailed information regarding these changes will be shared starting the week of September 7, allowing travelers to plan their trips accordingly.
