Vigorous Action Against Prostitution in Marrakech
The head of the judicial police in Marrakech, Captain Younes Aakifi, continues his relentless efforts to combat illegal activities within the region. A recent operation in the Tissalant area led to the arrest of ten individuals found inside a suspicious villa, further demonstrating the commitment to maintain law and order. This operation is part of a broader series of targeted actions initiated since Aakifi's appointment to lead the judicial police station at Bab Doukkala, following his previous role in Bouskoura. Notably, within just a week of his tenure, he dismantled a dangerous network involved in the distribution of illicit alcohol, seizing over a ton of traditional liquor.
This latest operation was prompted by numerous complaints from residents of the "Misk" subdivision in the Shrifia district regarding the conversion of a residential villa into a brothel. Under Aakifi's direct supervision and in coordination with the local authorities, the villa was raided, resulting in the arrest of five Moroccan women and five foreign nationals. Additionally, materials suspected to be illegal were confiscated during the raid.
The arrested individuals have been placed under judicial detention by the order of the competent public prosecutor in Marrakech, pending their appearance in court. This series of interventions reflects Aakifi's ongoing security strategy aimed at enhancing public safety and purging residential areas of various criminal activities, thereby fostering a safer environment for the community.
