Discover the Creative Processes at CasaBlanca
On September 25, 2026, the CasaBlanca Artistic Residencies will host a new **Open Study Day**, an essential event designed to highlight the innovative research, experimentation, and creative processes taking place within its studios. This gathering offers attendees the unique opportunity to explore five different studios and engage with the ongoing projects that are part of this vibrant artistic environment. The event is free of charge and aims to foster a deeper understanding of the artistic journeys that unfold in this space.
This year's Open Study Day will showcase works from various residency programs, including the **Residences in Plastic and Visual Arts Bogotá 2026**, the **Artistic Residency Villa CreaColombia**—a collaborative project with the French Embassy in Colombia facilitated by the French Institute—and the **International Residency** developed in partnership with the Montreal Arts Council through Livart. These diverse offerings underscore the dynamic and collaborative nature of the artistic community at CasaBlanca.
In addition to the studio tours, the day's programming includes two engaging workshops open to the general public, as well as a closing conversation with residents. The first workshop, **Screen Printing and Collage: From Words to Action, Violence is the Gap**, led by Daniela Ávila, will take place at 10:30 a.m. This workshop focuses on utilizing fragments of speeches by Laureano Gómez to foster a critical reading of authoritative language. Participants will have the chance to engage in meaningful dialogue and creative expression until 12:30 p.m.
Later in the day, at 2:00 p.m., attendees can join the **Writing-Drawing Workshop**, guided by Julián Ayala. This session aims to connect archival photographs with personal experiences, memory, childhood, city, and future aspirations, providing a platform for creative exploration until 4:00 p.m.
The day's events will culminate with a **Resident Conversation** from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., where participants will discuss their projects, creation processes, and experiences during their residency at CasaBlanca. This closing dialogue promises to be an enriching experience, allowing for deeper insight into the artistic endeavors taking place within this collaborative space.
