Osterhout Free Library to Host Annual Gala and Auction
The Osterhout Free Library is gearing up for its much-anticipated 22nd annual gala, themed "Marrakech in the Moonlight," scheduled for Friday, August 28, at the prestigious Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre. This year, the event is proudly sponsored by Discover NEPA, powered by Mericle. One of the evening's highlights will be the presentation of the Evergreen Award, which recognizes the remarkable contributions of long-time advocates and supporters, Molly and Frank Hoegen, to the library's mission. This gala promises not only to be a celebration of community spirit but also an opportunity to support a vital local institution.
The library is excited to announce Lesa and Peter Butera as the chairs for the 2026-27 annual campaign, further exemplifying the commitment of local leaders towards promoting literacy and education within the community. The gala will feature an online auction, where attendees can bid on a variety of items, and a raffle offering a tempting "Choose Your Destination" travel voucher valued at $5,000.
