On Wednesday, more than 200 travelers found themselves stranded at Marrakech Menara Airport after their EasyJet flight to Manchester was canceled due to technical issues. This unfortunate situation unfolded when flight EZY2294 was scheduled to take off at 10:40 AM, but after several hours of delay, it was ultimately canceled about ten hours later, leaving passengers in a state of distress and uncertainty.
Passengers reported that throughout the day, they were left in a fog of confusion due to the lack of communication from the airline. The only notification regarding the flight's cancellation came via an email received late in the afternoon, which added to their frustration. In total, around 235 passengers were affected by this disruption, with many having to extend their stay in Morocco for an additional night.
EasyJet explained that the cancellation was necessitated by an emergency technical issue that had arisen during the plane's previous flight, which resulted in the crew exceeding the legally permitted working hours. As a consequence, the airline announced that the flight has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 11.
