Generous Support for Education in Jerusalem
In a commendable initiative aimed at providing educational support to underprivileged students, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, which operates under the auspices of the Jerusalem Committee led by King Mohammed VI, commenced the distribution of more than 3,000 school bags filled with essential stationery supplies. This effort took place on Wednesday, just ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year, signaling a proactive approach to ensuring that students in Jerusalem and its surrounding areas have the necessary materials to succeed in their studies. This initiative is part of a broader socio-economic program designed to enhance educational access in the region, funded by the Fez Municipality and the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine.
Targeting Vulnerable Communities
The distribution campaign kicked off in the village of Nabi Samuel and expanded to include educational and charitable institutions in the town of Silwan, as well as areas such as Al-Ram, Jaba, Bab al-Amud, the Old City, Al-Mazra’a, Al-Tur, Bab al-Sahira, Beit Hanina, and the refugee camps of Shuafat and Qalandiya, among others. This initiative specifically targets students in upper primary and secondary education who come from disadvantaged families, orphans, and individuals with special needs. Each school bag contains essential school supplies, including notebooks, pens, and art materials, ensuring that these children are equipped for their academic pursuits.
Local residents and officials expressed their heartfelt gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government for their generous support in this initiative. The agency also highlighted that it had previously announced its integrated program for the period of 2027-2030 in Ramallah on July 15, 2026. This program focuses on enhancing the school environment, expanding scholarship opportunities, supporting emerging student projects, and preserving Palestinian identity.
