Palestinian Ambassador Highlights Morocco's Role in International Stabilization Efforts

Morocco's Commitment to Palestinian Causes

Jamal Choubaki, the Palestinian Ambassador to Morocco, has expressed optimism regarding Morocco's recent entry into the International Stabilization Force (ISF), viewing it as a significant commitment to upholding international law. In an interview with Médias24, he emphasized the historical depth of the relationship between Morocco and Palestine, stating, "The Palestinians are concerned with everything that pertains to Morocco, and vice versa." This mutual concern is underpinned by Morocco's longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, particularly under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, who presides over the Al-Quds Committee.

Ongoing Challenges in Gaza

Despite the positive developments, Ambassador Choubaki voiced grave concerns regarding the current situation on the ground in Gaza. He noted that since the ceasefire, approximately 1,600 Palestinians have lost their lives, and there has been no withdrawal of Israeli forces. Furthermore, the blockade remains intact, severely restricting the flow of essential goods, medical supplies, and construction materials necessary for rebuilding efforts in the region. "The Council of Peace continues to struggle to fulfill its commitments," he lamented, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation that persists even amidst international diplomatic efforts. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful that Morocco's involvement in the ISF could serve as a stabilizing factor and a beacon of hope for the Palestinian people.
