Legal Action Against Fake Pharmacists in Fes

On May 5, 2026, the Court of First Instance in Fes delivered a verdict regarding two individuals charged with illegally distributing pharmaceutical products without the necessary licenses. The case, which was handled by the Criminal Court, resulted in significant penalties for the accused. The court sentenced Yassine (S) to a year in prison along with a fine of 5,000 dirhams, while Hanaa (K) received a sentence of three months in prison and an identical fine, with both defendants ordered to bear the costs jointly.

Additionally, the court ordered the confiscation of all seized goods and the financial amounts to be paid to the customs administration. Mobile phones belonging to the defendants were to be returned, and Hanaa was granted the return of her Ford Focus vehicle along with its documents. Furthermore, a Fiat Uno was to be returned to its rightful owner. The court also mandated the principal defendant to pay an extra fine to customs amounting to 169,266 dirhams, with the possibility of imprisonment if this additional fine is not paid, along with the court costs.

The charges against the defendants included practicing pharmacy activities without legal authorization, possessing pharmaceutical products for sale and distribution without a license, and offering food products that pose a risk to consumer health. This ruling highlights the judiciary's commitment to maintaining public health standards and ensuring that pharmaceutical practices are conducted within legal frameworks.
