In a significant move ahead of the upcoming legislative elections, the Party of Progress and Socialism has reaffirmed its confidence in its four parliamentary candidates representing the regions of Boulemane, Taza, and Taounate. The party is optimistic about their ability to retain their seats in the House of Representatives. Notably, the party has also introduced fresh faces, such as Ali Lakassab, who will contest in the southern district of Fes.
Among the established political figures receiving renewed support from party leader Nabil Benabdallah is Rashid Hammouni, the current parliamentarian for Boulemane, who serves as the head of the parliamentary group. He has been selected once again as the lead candidate for his district. Similarly, Ahmed Al-Abadi, the head of the Kaldiman commune in Taza, has been endorsed to lead the party's list in the same region, where he currently serves as a parliamentarian.
In the Taounate region, the party has chosen two well-known candidates to head their lists. Abdullah Bouzidi Idrissi, the current party parliamentarian and head of the Taounate commune, has been endorsed for the Tissa Taounate district. Meanwhile, Ikram Al-Hanawi, the current female parliamentarian, has been chosen to lead the list in the village of Bou Mohammed Ghafsai.
Ikram Al-Hanawi previously secured her seat through the regional list and is the daughter of a former parliamentarian from the same party. She currently leads the rural commune of Sidi Yahya Beni Zeroual in the Ghafsai district. However, the party has yet to finalize its candidate for the northern district of Fes, as well as in the regions of Moulay Yacoub and Al-Hajeb.
Additionally, municipal councilor Ali Lakassab has been appointed as the lead candidate for the party in the southern district of Fes, while Mohamed Masouk will lead the list in the Ifrane region. Furthermore, Mohamed Bakhtawi, the first deputy mayor of Meknes, has been selected as the lead candidate for the Meknes district, with hopes of securing one or more seats in this area.
