PAM Makes Strategic Move by Recruiting RNI Leader
The wave of political realignments continues to gain momentum in the Fes-Meknes region as the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) successfully recruits a notable figure from the National Rally of Independents (RNI). The latest addition is Hassan Tazi Chlal, the President of the Fes Provincial Council, whose transition to PAM is poised to exacerbate the challenges facing the RNI ahead of the upcoming electoral events.
On Wednesday, September 2, Tazi Chlal attended a luncheon hosted at the villa of former RNI minister Mohamed Abou in Fes, alongside prominent PAM members Fawzi Lekjaa and Al Arabi Al-Mahrashi. This meeting is viewed as a strong indicator of Tazi Chlal's imminent shift to the PAM party, further solidifying the party's strategy to bolster its ranks.
This transition comes in the wake of increasing tensions between Tazi Chlal and the RNI, particularly following the resignation of his wife, who was an elected representative for the party. Her resignation stemmed from her dissatisfaction with the party's decision not to endorse her as a candidate for the regional list, highlighting the growing rifts within the RNI's structure in Fes.
PAM's recruitment efforts are not limited to Tazi Chlal. The party has previously attracted parliamentarians Nourddine Qchebel and Bouchta Bou Souf after they left the RNI, marking a significant trend of leadership and member shifts between the two parties.
