Pratt & Whitney Canada Unveils New Manufacturing Facility in Morocco

Pratt & Whitney Canada Expands Operations in Morocco

In a significant move aimed at bolstering its global supply chain and enhancing production capabilities, Pratt & Whitney Canada has officially inaugurated a new manufacturing facility located in the Midparc Industrial Zone of Nouaceur, Morocco. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 130,000 square feet, is set to produce intricate static and structural machined components for various aircraft engines, including the renowned PT6 engine family. The establishment of this facility not only marks a milestone in Pratt & Whitney's operational expansion but is also expected to create approximately 200 new jobs by 2030, catering to the increasing demand for reliable and high-quality engines in the aerospace sector.

Maria Della Posta, the president of Pratt & Whitney Canada, articulated the strategic importance of this site, stating, "This site is a strategic extension of our global production network and demonstrates our commitment to building resilient supply chains worldwide that will enable us to increase production for our customers." She further emphasized the company's dedication to collaborating with local organizations to foster the next generation of aerospace professionals, thereby reinforcing Morocco's position as a burgeoning hub in the aerospace industry.

Rapid Development and Future Prospects

Since its groundbreaking in 2024, the Morocco facility has swiftly progressed from construction to operational readiness, focusing on workforce recruitment, technical training, and the installation of advanced machining technologies. The facility has been designed with lean manufacturing principles in mind, incorporating cutting-edge digital systems aimed at enhancing quality and operational efficiency. The strategic positioning of this facility aligns with Pratt & Whitney's overarching goal to cater to the evolving needs of its customers while ensuring high standards of production.

Additionally, Pratt & Whitney's sister company, Collins Aerospace, has been actively manufacturing cockpit solutions and flight controls in Morocco since 2012. Together, these two facilities contribute to a workforce of approximately 250 employees in the region, further solidifying RTX's (the parent company of Pratt & Whitney) commitment to the Moroccan market. With a legacy of innovation and excellence, Pratt & Whitney continues to set benchmarks in the design and manufacture of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units for military, commercial, and civil aviation customers worldwide.
