Pratt & Whitney Expands Operations in Morocco with New $76 Million Facility
On April 21, 2026, Pratt & Whitney Canada inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Midparc, located in the Nouaceur province of Morocco. This significant investment of $76 million is strategically designed to enhance the company's global supply chain, support multiple engine programs, and create approximately 200 jobs by 2030. Spanning an impressive 27,871 square meters, with the production building alone covering 12,000 square meters, the new facility represents a major step forward in Pratt & Whitney's commitment to expanding its industrial footprint in Morocco.
The newly established plant will focus on producing detailed machined parts, static and structural components for Pratt & Whitney Canada’s aircraft engines, particularly for the PT6 engine family. It will also manufacture essential components for a broader range of engines, including the PW500, PW300, and GTF series. This facility is expected to significantly bolster the company’s production capabilities in response to the growing demand for engines, thereby reinforcing Pratt & Whitney's global supply chain.
Rapid Development and Future Workforce Growth
The rapid progress of this project has been notable since construction began in August 2024, with operational commissioning moving swiftly to ensure timely completion by January 2026. The transition from construction to operational readiness includes the recruitment of staff, technical training, and the installation of advanced machining equipment. Pratt & Whitney Canada has emphasized that the plant is designed with lean manufacturing principles in mind and integrates advanced digital systems to promote quality, operational excellence, and industrial efficiency.
Looking ahead, the new facility is expected to ramp up employment in Morocco, with Pratt & Whitney Canada anticipating around 200 jobs by 2030. Currently, the site has 77 active employees, with an additional 20 undergoing training. This expansion is part of a broader presence of RTX in the country, as Collins Aerospace, another RTX division, has been manufacturing cockpit elements and flight controls in Morocco since 2012. Collectively, RTX's operations in Morocco employ approximately 250 individuals, highlighting the company's commitment to contributing to the local aerospace sector.
