Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium Named 'Best in the World 2025' by StadiumDB

The Remarkable Achievement of Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium

The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat has recently been recognized as the 'Stadium of the Year 2025' during the 16th edition of the prestigious Stadium of the Year competition organized by StadiumDB. This international event is dedicated to celebrating excellence in sports architecture and design. To qualify for this esteemed title, stadiums must have a minimum capacity of 15,000 seats and must have either opened or undergone a complete renovation in the year 2025.

The winners of the competition are determined through a public voting process, where participants select their top five favorite stadiums, assigning points on a scale from five to one. The voting period concluded on March 9, 2026, with each device allowed to submit only one vote. Out of 28 stadiums that participated in this year's contest, five were from Morocco. The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium emerged victorious with a total of 14,481 points, surpassing the Grand Stadium of Tangier, which secured the second position with 10,453 points. Other Moroccan stadiums that participated included the Moulay Hassan Stadium, which placed fifth with 8,092 points, the City Stadium at seventh with 6,543 points, and the Olympic Stadium of Rabat at ninth with 4,954 points.

A Broader Perspective on the Competition

The competition also featured three other African stadiums: the Benghazi Stadium in Libya, which ranked 15th, the Hoima City Stadium in Uganda set to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027, which came in at 18th, and the Olympic Stadium in Chad, which placed 20th. This impressive recognition not only highlights the architectural brilliance of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium but also showcases the burgeoning talent and infrastructure advancements within Moroccan sports facilities.
